The Geothermal Research Society of Japan (GRSJ) was established in December 1978. The objectives of the society are to promote the science and technology for exploration, development and utilization of geothermal resources.
GRSJ achieves the objectives by carrying out research activities, publishing scientific journals and other publications, organizing meetings and other conferences, granting membership, and conducting any other business which is necessary to attain the objectives of the Society. The Technical Division for Underground Thermal Utilization was established in 2001 to promote and disseminate the researches and technologies on this field.
