About our society
Establishment and Objectives
The Geothermal Research Society of Japan (GRSJ) was established in December 1978. The objectives of the society are to promote the science and technology related to exploration, development, power generation, direct use, and other issues of geothermal resources.
GRSJ carries out research activities, publishes scientific journals and other books, holds annual conferences and other technical seminars, and conducts other activities necessary to achieve the objectives of the Society. In order to support the promotion of geothermal energy utilization in Japan, both for power generation and direct use including ground-source heat pump, GRSJ holds workshops for the outreach of geothermal information to the general public and participates in various renewable energy events.
